Inhalt |
The course gives an overview on Swiss law and provides incoming students with the background for their legal studies in Switzerland. Therefore participation is highly recommended. The course comprises four main parts: constitutional history and constitutional law (i.e. the organisational structure of the Swiss State, human rights and the very specific democratic political rights in Switzerland), civil law as well as criminal law incl. the system of execution of sentences and measures in Switzerland. The lectures will not only be taught in class, but on excursions as well, e.g. to Berne and to the Prison of Thorberg.
