Inhalt |
The course provides an introduction to the principles of economic evaluation.
Topics include the measurement and valuation of health outcomes, costing and cost analysis, cost-benefit, cost-utility and cost-effectiveness analysis. We will look at different types of decision models, including decision trees and Markov models, the role of uncertainty, and sensitivity analysis. Time will be devoted to review economic evaluations in the domain of health care and the use of economic evaluation results in health policy and practice. |

Lernziele |
The course has three main objectives:
(i) to develop a critical understanding of the main principles and methods of health economic evaluations,
(ii) to describe and compare different approaches of health economic
modeling and how they can be used to inform decision-making, and
(iii) to learn how to design, analyze, and interpret economic evaluation research, drawing on recent examples from the literature. |
