This seminar takes place in cooperation with L’Oréal. The company is currently inviting student ideas for its annual, international Brandstorm competition. More details on this competition are available at https://brandstorm.loreal.com/en/. In this competition, students compete in teams of 3 for entering the Swiss finals (and ultimately, for winning the international finals). Your mission in this year’s competition is to “invent the beauty shopping experience through entertainment”. To this end, students can choose submit ideas in three categories: new products and services, new business models, new entertainment experiences. Each group will be mentored by representatives of the Chair for Strategy & Marketing and develop analyses and recommended solutions for the given challenge. These ideas and their development will continuously be presented to receive all students’ feedback for improvement. At the end of the course, all solutions will be evaluated by representatives of the Chair for Strategy & Marketing. Further details on the exact challenge will be provided during the kick-off session on February 10, 2021. |
Lernziele |
Students learn to analyze a real-world problem and to develop practical solutions based on careful application of tools and concepts from strategy, marketing and/ or data science. Students practice their presentation skills and improve their ability to work effectively in a team setting. |

As this course includes a group work component, all students are required to register on Uni Portal before February 12, 2021. Note that it is solely your responsibility to register for this course on Uni Portal in time, and that NO EXCEPTIONS will be made in case of a missed deadline. Students also need to confirm that they meet the participation criteria on the Brandstorm website: https://brandstorm.loreal.com/en/ and register their teams on the website.
• due to the limited number of participants and the participation in groups, interested students must form groups of 3 students and send an email application to itir.bozkurt@unilu.ch.
• each group must send only one email with the following information: 1. Names, student IDs, and email addresses of all group members; 2. 1 PDF page of motivation, why your Group should participate in the seminar.
• only complete emails sent between 10:00AM and 11:00AM on February 8, 2021 will be considered. Successful groups will be notified by email by noon of February, 9, 2021.
• no registration via OLAT
