Inhalt This course includes practice with the following:


• Evaluating different career paths for fit with oneself


• Asking productive questions from guest speakers


• Researching a firm’s goals, performance, strengths, weaknesses


• Assessing an industry’s general trends and expected future
E-Learning All learning materials are provided via the E-learning platform Moodle.
Lernziele This course aims to expose the students to a wide variety of potential career directions through presentations by current practitioners in the field of health sciences. Guest speakers will present information including but not limited to: their career path, their current role, career advice, company/institution and industry. Presentations will be followed by an active Q&A session. The course will also require students to conduct research on companies/ institutions and their industries which will help students prepare for interviews at these or similar firms.

Overall, this course has two objectives:
• To expose students to the breadth of possible careers in health sciences through conversations with current practitioners
• To help students prepare for future interviews at firms by researching firms and industries when applying for a position
Voraussetzungen By the end of this course, students should be able:
• Identify target firms and industries they would like to consider for their career
• Prepare for interviews by researching target firms and their industries

Begrenzung Open for Health Sciences students in the 4th (or final) semester only

Prüfung Students will research two target companies or institutions (including their industries) where they would consider applying for a position someday. They will summarize separately in written form each company’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as the general business climate for the industry overall. Students will include a set of questions that they may ask during the interview process. More detailed information on what to include in the dossiers will be shared during the first session.
