Inhalt This workshop covers current approaches and estimation techniques in causal analysis. These methods are relevant for academics and practitioners as well as for economists, managers, and social scientists. Students will work on one specific topic and discuss it in class. After the workshop, you should know more about the recent developments in causal analysis and how you can apply those to your specific research or policy question. The workshop builds on the lecture “Causal Analysis” and covers instrumental variables, differences-in-differences, regression discontinuity designs, and synthetic control methods.
Lernziele 1. Learn how to acquire knowledge about current approaches
2. Define the assumptions required to make causal claims when using current ap-proachess
3. Learn to critically evaluate existing empirical studies
4. Present your results in class
