| Lernziele |
The objective of this course is to give an overview of the field of public health and enable students to apply their knowledge directly to designing and interpreting studies on population health. The first part of the course establishes a comprehensive understanding of the core competencies, concepts, and values of the field of public health and its major challenges. In addition, students gain an insight into the Swiss healthcare system, its structure and organization. The second part of the course introduces the fundamental methodologies of public health, including epidemiology, the different types of studies used to inform public health practice, and common quantitative and qualitative methods. The final part of the course provides applied case studies on real world research and interventions in public health practice. |
