The main aim of this course is to train students with empirical methods used in research, with an emphasis on applications in health economics, and develop their knowledge of research.Students will deepen their knowledge of health economics through a list of selected research papers on which they will critically reflect and undertake their own complementary empiricalanalysis. To this end, students will prepare a term paper that will include a synthesis of the literature in the related field, an analysis of data, the replication of the main results of a selectedpaper along with their critical assessment. Alternative empirical strategies could also be discussed when replication codes are not available. Students will present their work in class.Further details on the topics, the expectations towards the term paper, the oral presentation, and the discussion will be given during the introductory meeting (see also below). |
