Inhalt |
Climate Change raises many challenging questions: Are we all responsible to the same degree for the existence of the problem? If not, who is responsible for taking up necessary measures to lessen the impact of climate change? How much should we invest today to prevent potential future damage (the discounting problem)? Are the moral categories we apply to climate change really up to the problem? What prevents us from more radical forms of reforming our ways of life? Should we rethink our whole way of conceptualizing nature (and our place in nature)? In this seminar we want to tackle these and others questions. To get a better understanding of climate change we will also have to learn some of the sad facts of change brought about by human interventions. Most of the literature is advanced philosophical literature but we will also read economic and psychological material. |
