Inhalt As a result of globalisation of labour markets, demographic pressures in sending and receiving States, environmental disasters, political changes in sending States etc. international migration is a topic of ever-increasing in­terest and relevance. The course focuses on the international legal frame­work that regulates the flow of people across international borders as regular or irregular migrants including the rights and responsibilities of States as they pertain to international migration and the protection of human rights of mi­grants. Topics will include: contemporary patterns of international migration; nationality and statelessness; regulation of entry and exit of persons; re­fugees and asylum seekers; international labour migration, international la­bour law and protection of non-nationals; international Human Rights of Mi­grants; trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants; international, regio­nal and bilateral migration processes; emerging migration issues.

Voraussetzungen Basic knowledge of Public International Law, Human Rights Law and/or Migration Law would be an asset.
