Inhalt	The course focuses on gender categorizations such as masculinity and femininity, cultural conventions relating to sexual and ethnical roles, and on social representation in Israeli visual culture. We will examine themes such as gender politics, different aspects of LGBTQ in Israeli culture, sexuality and the body, ethnicity and race. The course will cover three main aspects: the groups’ social roles and their struggle for equality; compartmentalization and discrimination; and the achievements of the groups. Examining gender questions, LGBTQ struggles and ethnic positions in Israeli culture is a significant way of deepening the understanding of the complexity of the social fabric and culture in Israel.
