| Inhalt |
The proseminar offers, on the one hand, an in-depth examination of the content and methodology of the lecture “Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft” and, on the other hand, the practical application of the approaches discussed. Building on the thematic focus of the lecture, we will deal with original texts that correspond to the scientific state of the art and discuss the empirical approach and the causal arguments of the approaches.
The course thus offers an introduction to the analysis of political science arguments. At the end of the course, students will be able to analyze the causal arguments and empirical approaches of basic texts in comparative politics. With the help of the knowledge they have acquired, students will be able to describe and analyze current political developments and the differences and similarities between the national political systems in Europe today. In addition to imparting elementary specialist knowledge, the aim is to introduce students to “comparative thinking” and to enable them to develop a research design.
During the course students will hold a presentation on one of the texts listed in the Syllabus and write a research design. This research design will include a literature review that is developed as a “Recherchebericht” in the context of two sessions on information competence (“Informationskompetenz”) with subject librarian Dr. Daniel Geiger. |

Studienschwerpunkt: Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft
Im Rahmen dieser Lehrveranstaltung findet die Veranstaltung zur Recherche und Verwaltung von wissenschaftlicher Literatur statt (Informationskompetenz). Die Studierenden lernen für ihr Studium die Nutzung von Bibliothekskatalogen, Fachdatenbanken, wissenschaftlichen Suchmaschinen und Literaturverwaltungsprogammen sowie die Auswahl und Bewertung relevanter wissenschaftlicher Literatur kennen. Die Veranstaltung umfasst 6h, inklusive eines vierstündigen Workshops zusätzlich zu der Lehrveranstaltung und wird in Kooperation mit den Mitarbeitenden der Zentral- und Hochschulbibliothek Luzern durchgeführt.
Die Veranstaltung inklusive des Workshops ist Teil der Studienleistungen.
