Inhalt |
Law and policy may have far-reaching demographic implications. Political decisions can encourage or limit population growth. Legal norms concerning reproductive rights, abortion, and prenatal screening affect procreation at the most intimate, personal level. Climate legislation regulate the relationship between people living today and future generations. In this course we will discuss some landmark court cases that have dealt with the hard questions in the field, and reflect on these questions from a theoretical point of view. |
Lernziele |
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be familiar with the central legal questions and theoretical literature in the field. The students will learn to assess the relevant arguments analytically, and to present their own views on the subject clearly and accurately. |
