Human Rights and Climate Change
Climate change caused by human activity has a profound and growing impact on the enjoyment of a wide range of human rights – including the rights to life, food, water, housing, and an adequate standard of living. This workshop explores the complex and evolving relationship between human rights and climate change from various legal and normative perspectives.
The workshop is divided into two parts:
• In the first part of the semester, students choose an individual topic related to the overall theme and develop it through independent research. After an initial organisational meeting, there are no weekly sessions; instead, students receive individual supervision from Prof. Martina Caroni and her team.
• In the second part of the semester, weekly sessions are held for the presentation and discussion of the students’ research findings.
Active participation, critical reflection, and a willingness to engage with current developments at the intersection of human rights and climate change are expected. |
