What drives innovation and effective leadership in healthcare today? This course introduces students to the intersection of scientific knowledge and professional health management through a unique and inspiring format: TED-style flash talks delivered by experienced professionals from the fields of health sciences, public health, and healthcare management.
Each session features a high-impact 20-minute talk followed by an on-stage interview conducted by the course leader. Students are then invited into an open dialogue where they critically engage with topics such as knowledge translation, knowledge dissemination, leadership, ethics, health systems organization, and personal career development.
The course is designed to motivate and challenge young students by exposing them to real-life experiences and cutting-edge professional insights. It combines storytelling, expert reflection, and interactive learning to build foundational understanding of how science meets practice in modern healthcare.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Understand the key challenges and opportunities in contemporary healthcare systems.
• Recognize how scientific knowledge is translated into professional practice.
• Engage critically with expert perspectives on leadership, innovation, and ethical responsibility.
• Formulate questions and insights during professional dialogues.
