Umfang 4 Semesterwochenstunden
Inhalt This course provides an introduction to a role / competency model based on the CanMEDs roles for physicians. Derived from this system the roles of other health professions will be analyzed and discussed in the context of epidemiologically relevant diseases and health care settings. In addition, the perspective of interprofessional collaboration in patient care will be described. A focus will be on aspects of leadership and communication. We will also look at the effects and consequences of health conditions for the individual patient, the involved relatives and for the health care system and the health professions.
Lernziele After completing the course, the participants are able:

a. to describe the different roles of health professions and the relevance of interprofessional collaboration for the health care system
b. to outline an overview of epidemiologically relevant disease entities with a focus on the roles of involved health professions
c. to explain the consequences of a disease for patients and their relatives as well as for the health care system.
Voraussetzungen Overall grade of 4.0 or better.
Sprache Englisch
Begrenzung priority Master Health Sciences students.
