Inhalt |
The seminar offers a systematic introduction to R, the open-source programming language for statistical computing and data visualization. Students will learn the basic structure and functionality of the language, its integration with RStudio, and how its capabilities can be extended through packages. At the same time, this foundational knowledge will be connected to key aspects of statistical thinking and the practical challenges of everyday data analysis – from data preparation and management, to techniques such as regression modeling, to creating graphs and diagrams for reports, and even applying AI to write code. Ultimately, the seminar equips advanced students to apply their knowledge of quantitative social research in R, while also providing a solid basis for expanding their skills in future courses. |
Voraussetzungen |
No experience with R is required. However, students should be on an advanced BA or MA level with basic knowledge in statistics. |
