Inhalt The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with a solid understanding of diverse machine learning (ML) techniques and validation methods commonly used in the health sciences. By the end of the course, participants will be able to develop and validate their own mediction models and derive clinically relevant scoring systems.
The workshop will combine theoretical lectures with hands-on practical exercixes, providing a balanced and engaging learning enviornment. Participants will also receive personalized guidance and support throughout the course, ensuring a tailored and impactful learning experience.
Lernziele - Introcution into ML methodology
- Multidimensional data, dimensionality reduction, and principal component analysis
- Hierarchical, partitional, and K-means clustering
- Supervised learning, classification, and K-nearest neighbors
- Classification and regression trees
- Ensemble methods: Bagging, random forest, and boosting
- Artificial neural networks and deep learning
- Penalized Lasso and ridge regression for prediction modelling and score building
- Validation of prediction models using bootstrap and cross-validation
Voraussetzungen A basic knowledge of R programming is a prerequisite
Participatns bring their own laptop with installed versions of R and RStudio
