| Inhalt |
Economic development is a multifaceted subject. The UN’s sustainable development agenda defines 17 broad goals to be achieved by 2030. The list of development goals is very diverse, ranging from poverty eradication to climate action. Reflecting this diversity, our seminar will study and discuss a wide range of development-relevant topics: state formation, natural resources, conflict, health, and gender. There is not only diversity in terms of topics but also in terms of data sources and empirical methods used. Students will read, present, and discuss recent research papers that, taken together, provide a good overview of current issues and methods in the field of international economic development. |
