Lernziele What drives innovation and effective leadership in healthcare today?

This course explores the intersection of scientific knowledge and professional health management through a unique format based on TED-style flash talks delivered by experienced professionals across health sciences, public health, and healthcare management.

Each session features a 30-minute high-impact talk, followed by an on-stage interview and an open dialogue with students. The course is designed to expose students to real-world experiences and cutting-edge insights, combining storytelling, expert reflection, and interactive learning.

Across the course, ten invited professionals present ten key concepts central to contemporary healthcare:
- Innovation in healthcare systems
- Leadership and decision-making
- Ethical responsibility in practice
- Knowledge translation (from research to practice)
- Knowledge dissemination
- Health systems organization and governance
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Communication and influence in complex environments
- Resilience and adaptability
- Personal and professional development

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand key challenges and opportunities in healthcare systems
- Recognize how scientific knowledge is translated into practice
- Engage critically with expert perspectives on leadership and innovation
- Formulate questions and insights in professional dialogue
- Reflect on their role as future health professionals and outline their own development pathway

Leistungsnachweis Written exam (60 minutes) assessing students’ understanding of key concepts and their ability to critically reflect on the relationship between science, leadership, and professional practice in healthcare.
Attendance is advisable, although not mandatory. The course is built around live interaction with invited professionals, including discussions, interviews, and student engagement. Active participation is important to benefit from the experiential learning format and to develop critical reflection skills through dialogue.
