Inhalt This seminar examines current research in health and social policy through an in-depth engagement with selected empirical papers. Topics may include health care systems, provider behaviour, health insurance, public policy interventions, and social inequalities in health.

The course is structured around close reading and discussion of the literature. Each paper is discussed in extended sessions, allowing time to examine research questions, data, empirical strategies, and interpretation of results. Particular attention is given to understanding methodological approaches, including cases where these are complex or unfamiliar.

Students take an active role in leading discussions through presentations and formal discussant roles. The aim is to foster a deeper engagement with state-of-the-art literature and to strengthen analytical and critical skills in evaluating empirical research.
