This workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals and applications of Quarto, a modern framework for analysing data and communicating results in a reproducible and efficient manner.
Although Quarto can be used to produce a wide range of outputs, including presentations and websites, the workshop focuses on its role in writing reproducible research documents. By combining code, text, and results in a single file, Quarto allows participants to automate tasks that are otherwise manual and error-prone, such as creating tables and figures, updating them as data or analyses change, and producing outputs in different formats (e.g. Word, PDF, or HTML).
The workshop also introduces the use of GitHub for basic version control and collaboration, enabling participants to track changes, manage projects, and collaborate on reproducible research.
The workshop is particularly relevant for those involved in research-based writing, including essays, reports, and journal articles.
